FAQs (Updated June 2026)
Our goal is to help facilitate and support the establishment of a year-round indoor tennis facility (6 courts) in Collingwood to serve the entire South Georgian Bay community. The facility is proposed for private land at 255 Osler Bluff Road. The Georgian Bay Racquets Initiative is a volunteer-led community group and is not the owner, developer, or operator of the proposed facility.
This will be a membership-based facility that prioritises accessibility and affordability through community-focused pricing, youth development programs, and inclusive membership options. We're committed to making year-round tennis available to players of all ages and skill levels in our region.
The facility will be located at 255 Osler Bluff Road in Collingwood, Ontario. This private property has been secured for the development of a community tennis club with 6 indoor courts under a seasonal dome structure.
The location was chosen for its accessibility to the broader South Georgian Bay community, including Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, and surrounding areas.
While final membership structures will be determined by the future facility operator, we continue to advocate for membership options that are affordable and accessible.
Our goal is to prevent cost from being a barrier to widespread participation in our tennis community.

Our priority is to build this facility right – creating a high-quality, sustainable tennis venue that will serve South Georgian Bay for decades to come.
Tennis offers exceptional health benefits, making it one of the healthiest sports in the world. According to research by the Health and Fitness Association, tennis improves cardiovascular fitness, increases flexibility, enhances coordination, and boosts mental health. The World Health Organization recognizes tennis as a key activity that contributes to overall health and well-being.
Key statistics include:
• Tennis players experience a 47% lower risk of cardiovascular disease compared to non-players
• Regular participation can improve cognitive function and reduce the risk of dementia by 20%
• Tennis provides excellent full-body exercise while being lower-impact than many other sports
By establishing a year-round indoor facility in Collingwood, we aim to make these health benefits accessible to South Georgian Bay residents throughout the entire year.
